Abstract
Greengrowers is envisioned as a startup in the home composting space that provides information and encourages people to grow their own garden from composting at their own homes. In the first phase, it collaborates with leading brands of the products whose waste is convenient to make compost for beginners.
The leading brand would be interested as it will have the scope to involve themselves for a social, cultural and environmental purpose.

This project was carried out after one week module that taught us the geography and politics of food.
A conceptual design intervention was supposed to be delivered in any arena of food system that impacts its future.
Why
beginning to collaborate with tea brands?
What
does used tea leaves contain?
Who
is the target group?
More than 80 % of households in India love their tea.
Imagine the number of tea leaves being dumped every day.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if most of these households have their gardens in their balconies or terraces growing their fruits and flowers beginning with their compost from the used tea leaves and other kitchen waste they throw instead of using chemical fertilizers?

For beginners, making compost with used teas leaves is comparatively convenient than any other wastes!

A win-win situation for us, and the earth!

The consumption volume of tea in India was approximately 1.1 billion kilograms during the financial year 2021.

As many start their day with their morning tea in India, we start a long way to encourage people to grow their greens with their used tea leaves and make way for a healthy life and planet!
Tea contains 4.4% nitrogen, 0.25% Phosphorous and 0.24% Potassium which is very good for acidic plants

CHAI LOVERS X EARTH CONSCIOUS PEOPLE | TEA BRANDS | EARTH

Primarily, the chai lovers who are gardeners or who wish to grow their greens but fear getting into the process of composting for the misconceptions they carry.

In a long run, it will change the mindsets of mass and encourage them to minimize their kitchen waste disposal. Not throwing out used tea leaves can save people from using plastic packaged products.
This will inspire people to use their other kitchen waste.
How
should the design be?
